Energy Weaving

unseen forces embodied. MOVEMENT. BREATH. SOUND.

As I was meditating with mantra in May 2020, I felt a gentle pull at the base of my spine - something I had noticed before, but this time, I completely relaxed and felt a subtle - yet obviously present - force push/pull my upper trunk in pendulum-like motions: backwards/forwards, side-to-side, clockwise and counterclockwise.

Two years later, I began to feel this force in my hands, as my fingers began to dance to the silent rhythms of ancient mudras. I tried to make sense of the phenomena I was experiencing, seeking through ancient and modern spiritual practices, religions, histories, myths, sciences, but all has given way to the surrender to my Self's unique expression, to my slowly expanding ability to listen deeply to it and allow it to flow through me.

MY WORK RESTS ON THE ACCEPTANCE THAT WE ARE MORE THAN OUR PHYSICAL BODIES.

As I work, I am not intentionally moving my body; I listen and my body moves itself, responding to unseen forces that feel magnetic in nature. But I do communicate through intention, holding a specific focus for each session, and then allowing for its unfoldment.

What began as rather coarse, abrupt movements have slowly become more refined, incorporating my complete body, complex hand movements, breath and sound. I do not know what will come in each session; I surrender to a flow of energies felt both within my body and without, as if all my cells have become polarized and are attracted to or repelled by another force. There is a dance of information between my Self and that of another, weaving energies with a set intention to produce a desired outcome, but without a fixed mindset on how that outcome should arise.

The energies that I receive are formless, yet through our interaction, I give them form, expressing them through my physical body, re-weaving, re-articulating, rewriting the unseen patterns that give rise to our physicality.

Formlessness and form. Constant negotiation between the two.

Physical and nonphysical.

Unseen and seen.
